Greetings from your Superior Township Supervisor's Office!

Township Government operates under specific state statues. The Township Supervisor also has duties and responsibilities listed in the statutes. Generally speaking, the Supervisor represents the Township at state, county and locale levels. The Supervisor moderates Township Board meetings and is generally responsible for managing the Township affairs and contracts. The Township Supervisor has a wide range of responsibilities including the oversight of the fire department, police contract, utility (water-sewer), assessing, building department, ordinance enforcement, budget and operational matters.

I thought sharing my background may be of interest. I was elected to a Township Trustee position in 1984 after being appointed in 1982 to fulfill a term. I was elected Township Supervisor in 1992 and re-elected in 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008. I retired from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department in 1990 as a Detective Sergeant where I supervised major crime criminal investigations. I'm also a Viet Nam Veteran with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Eastern Michigan University (Huron Forever).

My roots are deep in the community. My goal is to help maintain that quality of life that keeps old residents here and attracts new. I believe growth should be considered with Quality in mind, not Quantity. The pressure of growth continues from Township border to border. Managing growth will be the key for success while providing citizens the best possible service. The current Township Board and administrative staff has formed a positive team approach for governing with our citizens interest a top priority. In order to be successful, the Township needs the help and cooperation of its citizens.
